The Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers Inc. are offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of two men who shot and killed a Labrador Retriever on New Year's Eve.

The Houston Chronicle reported that at 3:40 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 31, deputies were called to the 19200 block of Beechnut Street in the Richmond area in connection to the shooting death of the caller's dog.

According to the dog's owner, he was walking his four-year-old Labrador Retriever along a retention pond located in an undeveloped area when he was approached by two people on four-wheel ATVs. He said that they weren't more than 10 feet away from him, but they were close to his dog. He was stunned when the rider of the red four-wheeler pulled out a silver-colored gun and shot the dog. At that point his dog was only wounded and whining, but the suspect shot the Labrador one more time.

The two suspects on the ATVs sped past the dog's owner and took off heading towards Beechnut Street. The dog's owner loaded his fatally wounded pet into his truck, who died en route to his home.

The dog's owner described the first suspect as wearing a red helmet, a red jacket and riding a red ATV. He said the second suspect was wearing a camouflage jacket and a green helmet and his ATV was green. The dog's owner was unable to determine age or race since the two suspect's faces were covered. He did mention that both suspects were wearing full riding gear, including riding boots specially designed for ATVs.

Any information which leads to the apprehension and filing of charges on the suspects involved could lead to a reward of up to $5,000.
